Her characters are as unique as any you have ever read and I think you will enjoy them as much as I did.

Very well written. What a great ending, never expected it!
The books ok. Learned a lot that I didn't know. Why does the world of gays have to be so complicated? People should just accept & respect others for who they are. Its very interesting.
Love at first sight, a beautiful love story that is brilliantly witty, has intelligent, quick dialogue and is set in New York City... What more could one ask of an author. MQ has pulled no punches in this fabulous story of romance, of being gay in the 60s/70s, and doing everything... absolutely everything to nurture lasting love. This story goes in the "will be read again" pile, and I join those readers awaiting the next installment in this great love story.
I finished reading this wonderful book, Imogene's Eloise, by Marguerite Quantaine.
I love the characters, the storyline, the history. The story is filled with so much love and self-discovery. I related so much, and yet, the story is nothing like ours, other than the finding of one's true love. I've never been to New York, but the descriptions had me visualizing and becoming familiar. I want more!
Please, do yourself a favor and add this to your "must read" list. This is not a "lesbian" or "gay" story, it's a true-love story.

Captures a time and place completely accurately. Heartwarming, funny, moving... The two female 'leads' are charming and unique. Hurray for individualistic women who didn't dress or act like either the gay community or the straight community wanted them to! True feminists in the best sense of the word, women who cared for other women and men, and respected themselves. A wonderful, wonderful read - well-written, memorable characters, unforgettable story. And the fact it's true only makes it even more compelling! Thank you!
I found this is a deeply moving story beautifully written. It's highly entertaining while also full of insights on life in general and the role of love in a young woman's discovery of her sexual orientation in particular.
The many characters that go in and out of the protagonist's life are memorable and their personalities very richly conveyed. I laughed and cried with them and for them.
The ending is breathtaking. I eagerly look forward to a sequel to this story.
